‘Billions,’ partially filmed in MidVille, premieres

This week, the brand new TV show “Billions” premiered to record-breaking numbers on Showtime. Across a number of various platforms and three airings of the show on Sunday, the show an estimated 2.99 million viewers overall.

The TV show filmed some scenes in Middle Village last summer. Between July 15th and 16th, a filming crew requested access to or around Metropolitan Avenue including 74th Street and 80th Street, 78th Street between Metropolitan Avenue and 66th Drive and 74th Street between 66th Drive and Metropolitan Avenue.

The show stars Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti. It follows Lewis’ character as a leader in the Wall Street world of corruption and of course, billions of dollars. Giamatti’s character, a powerful U.S. attorney, is out to get the rich guys of Wall Street, including Lewis’ character. Needless to say, viewer discretion is advised. But so far, many reviews have given the show a thumbs up.

See if you can catch the Middle Village scenes. “Billions” airs 10 p.m. on Sundays following “Shameless.”
