Recycle Christmas trees at MulchFest

mulchfest-treecycle
As much as it’s sad to see another holiday season come and go, it’s time to take down your live Christmas trees. The Department of Parks and Recreation will be hosting a MulchFest on the weekend of January 9th and January 10th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More than 30,000 trees were recycled at the MulchFest last year.

Bring your trees down to Juniper Valley Park on 80th Street between Juniper Boulevards North and South. They will be chipped and turned into mulch which will nourish trees and plants on streets and gardens around the city.

You can also take your mulch and use it in your own yard or on the sidewalk street trees.

Remember to remove lights, ornaments and any bags or nets.
