On Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., a northbound bus traveling on Woodhaven Boulevard slammed into a Rego Park building, shattering parts of a business and home.
The bus was said to have swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle making a sharp turn, according to FDNY authorities on the scene as well as a few eyewitnesses. The eight people on the bus at the time were all taken to a local hospital.
The bus is owned by a private company but transports Resorts World Casino customers back home as part of the casino’s bus program.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Resorts World Casino expressed concern in this afternoon’s accident.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by today’s bus accident,” the spokesperson said. “We are cooperating fully with the authorities in the investigation.”
