Middle Village residents charged with firework possession

104th_blogThe 104th precinct is reminding residents of New York City that fireworks are illegal and dangerous. A Ridgewood man found out the hard way, just before Independence Day.

On Thursday, July 2, Middle Village residents Jason Rodriguez, 28, and Tina Foley, 29, were charged with possession of over $2,000 of fireworks at about 9:50 p.m. at the intersection of 65 Lane and Admiral Avenue, Middle Village.

The pair was also charged with leaving a 3-year-old child alone in a vehicle with fireworks.

The 104th Precinct will have extra Patrols out all day and night to deal with illegal fireworks. If you get caught you can be subject to arrest. The New York City Police Department wants everyone to have a happy and safe Fourth of July, but also wants you to know that fireworks are illegal in New York City. If you see anyone using fireworks please call 911 immediately.
