The Owner of two Met Foods supermarkets (one located on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village) was found dead in front of his Staten Island home Saturday morning after he apparently slipped on ice the night before, officials said.
Mike Valenzo, 72, was discovered outside his home in Staten Island about 6:50 am on Saturday, Feb. 21st. His longtime business partner, Bill Fani, found Valenzo on the front steps when he came to take him to the airport.
Valenzo appeared to have slipped on the ice just paces from his door after celebrating a friend’s birthday. His keys were found near his body.
