Despite the rain, over the weekend, residents lined up along Metropolitan Avenue to celebrate local veterans.
World War II vet Joe Martino was the parade’s grand marshal. Martino has a long history of volunteerism and giving back to the poor.
“I never considered myself a war hero,” he says. “I just did my job.”
