Crowley hosts CPR event

cprpicCouncilwoman Elizabeth Crowley teamed up with the FDNY’s CPR Training Unit last week for a training session for a dozen local residents.

Each year, more than 350,000 people nationwide go into cardiac arrest our of the hospital. When this happens, their survival can depend on immediately receiving CPR from someone nearby.

If CPR is performed in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest, their chance or survival can be doubled or even tripled.

“Knowing how to administer CPR can make the biggest difference in an emergency situation,” Crowley said. “Every second counts.”
