Last week, Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley kicked off the annual Friends of Queens Borough Public Library conference.

Crowley encourage the Friends group to advocate for funding their own branches and meeting with their respective local council representatives. She committed to working with the Queens Library to establish a Friends group for all Queens Library locations to support them.

“Queens Library is like no other library system in the city, state or even the country,” Crowley said. “No other library services so many people from such different backgrounds and cultures, who are so eager to learn.”

“This is why I have committed to establishing a Friends group at every library branch – because the difference the library makes in all of our lives is priceless,” she added.
